I am very frustrated that I can’t add a date range for one stop. I’d like the days I’ve made reservations for to be on the date as a date range (check in through check out). I would do the waypoints I want to see within those dates but mark them as unrouted on the trip itself. This would help me know the checkout date which is what I’m missing. The option to arrive is already a choice on your site. Why not add an option to depart?
Thank you!

FYI— There weren’t clear directions for posting this question. I recommend you change the create+ to post. Same thing for the reply. You are putting the same term for starting the question or reply to the same term to end it.
Totally get the frustration. Right now, dates in Roadtrippers are designed around when you arrive, not how long you’re planning to hang out. The good news? Our team is actively exploring ways to better handle multi-day stays.
I do have a couple of workaround for you. They are not perfect, but I hope they’ll help you out.
If you’re staying somewhere for multiple nights, you can add that same overnight stop to each day you’ll be there. That way, Roadtrippers knows where you’re waking up each morning and can route you from your overnight spot if you’re using routed waypoints.
Here’s how to do this:
- Click the + Add Waypoint button at the top right of the date in your Trip Itinerary.
- Type in the place name just like it already appears in your trip and add it again.
- Drag and drop it wherever you’d like it to land for that day.
Here’s another idea - and it’s actually my go-to trick when I’m planning my own trips: you can rename your multi-day stop to show how long you’ll be there! That way, the duration is super clear at a glance. That would look like this:
I know these aren’t perfect fixes, but I wanted to make sure you had a few options to work with!
I’m in same trailer, as a LONG time user of RV Trip Wizard and full-time traveler…your suggestion of adding a departure date would be a BIG PLUS…I’m trying to like this new RoadTrippers sofware but this alone may keep me in bed with RV Life
I understand the idea of adding multiple way points to represent the number of days in one spot, what about the other side when you want to control the route by adding a waypoint? This seems to treat each point as a night , am I missing something? Right now i’m using the name to encode the dates and it does work, but would love to use the date function.
To make this work-around easier, it would be great if you could copy an existing waypoint. It would then also include all of the info you already may have added to the original waypoint. This would be a good feature to have even without it being used to work around the date range issue.
But I agree with others - being able to have a date range on a waypoint is essential! As someone who is traveling a long distance with my TT and wanting to make stops along the way, I want to be able to map my whole route but then easily adjust how long I might stay in one particular place based on how many miles we want to be on the road any particular day.
A date range option would also make it useful for when you want to make a location your ‘base camp’ for a time frame and venture out in different directions each day.
