I planned a drive for my husband from FL-MN. He wanted to avoid big city traffic so I added waypoints to route around Atlanta. I wanted good information on road conditions, construction, traffic (including truck routes) weather (storms, icy roads, flooding) and general neighborhood safety for choosing hotels. A good trip planning tool should connect easily to good tools for all this essential safety information. Roadtrippers does not. Hospital and law enforcement location info is always reassuring to have available. I had to go to multiple other sources for these essential road trip planning resources. I found Roadtrippers of minimal value for a long road trip because it lacks general safety information.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed feedback. It brings attention to some important considerations for travelers, and we truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.
You’re absolutely right: safety is essential when planning a long trip, especially through unfamiliar areas or during uncertain weather. While Roadtrippers is built to help you find unique stops and plan memorable routes, we understand that’s only part of what you need. Access to real-time traffic, weather, safe detours, and nearby hospitals or law enforcement is incredibly valuable—and we hear you loud and clear that this kind of information would make the app more useful.
I’ve shared your expectations with our product team. These are exactly the kind of insights that help guide our future improvements. We’re sorry you had to rely on other tools to fill in the gaps, and we hope to grow Roadtrippers into a more complete trip-planning companion for users like you.
Thanks again, and safe travels to both you and your husband!
